Care Guide

Every piece is made by hand. How you care for it determines how long it stays that way.

01

Hand-Painted Apparel

Your mair. piece has been painted by hand using high-quality paints that bond directly to the fabric. With the right care, your piece will last through years of wear and washing without fading or cracking.

Washing

  • Machine wash is fine — turn your garment inside out before putting it in
  • Use a gentle/delicate cycle with cold or lukewarm water
  • Use a mild detergent — avoid harsh detergents, bleach, or fabric softeners
  • Hand wash is always preferred if you want to be extra careful

Drying

  • Air dry in the shade — avoid direct sunlight for extended periods
  • Do not tumble dry on high heat
  • Do not wring or twist the garment

Ironing

  • If ironing is needed, iron on the reverse side only
  • Never iron directly over the painted area

P.s. The more gently you treat it, the longer it lives — but it is built to be worn, not kept in a cupboard.

02

Metal Jewellery

All mair. metal pieces are made from alloy with an anti-tarnish finish applied.

Wearing

  • Remove before swimming, bathing, or washing hands
  • Avoid contact with perfume, lotions, and oils — put jewellery on after applying any products

Cleaning

  • Wipe your piece clean with a soft dry cloth before and after each use
  • Do not soak in water or use liquid cleaners
  • For stubborn marks, a very lightly dampened cloth can be used — dry immediately after

Storing

  • Store in a pouch or box away from direct sunlight and humidity
  • Keep pieces separate to avoid scratching

03

Lighter Cases

mair. lighter cases are hand-painted and built to be used daily.

Water Resistance

  • The painted exterior is waterproof and weather resistant
  • However, do not submerge the case — and obviously, keep water away from the lighter itself inside

Fit

  • Each lighter case is made for a specific lighter size
  • Only use the lighter model the case was made for. Forcing a different size lighter in can damage the case or the lighter

Cleaning

  • Wipe the outside with a soft dry cloth
  • Avoid abrasive materials that could scratch the surface

04

Clay Pieces

  • Handle with reasonable care — clay is durable but not indestructible
  • Wipe clean with a dry or very slightly damp cloth
  • Do not soak in water
